My name is Joseph Andrew James; I'm a Ph.D. student at Virginia Tech in the Construction Engineering and Management Program under the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department.

 

My research is centered around Data Visualization and Energy Awareness. It's my duty to create personalized energy dashboards tailored to residents' energy and data literacy levels. My research aims to increase residents' understanding of energy, which is a critical step that society must take to make informed energy consumption decisions to sustain the quality of life. Without energy understanding, people will continue to miss out on opportunities to make energy-efficient choices that improve their lives and the lives of others.

In the future, I would like to be an assistant professor and travel the world, helping individuals visualize data one graph at a time.
