This research is about improving vividness of a proposal sustainable infrastructure project to increase support. The sustainable infrastructure is the Green Crescent Trail and its purpose is to create a network on pedestrian and bike trails to serve the areas of Clemson, Central, and Pendleton, South Carolina. Vividness is showing the community a clear representation of the Green Crescent Trail project is going to look in the future and the benefits it contributes. To show the community vividness there were virtual reality models on the Green Crescent Trail created. The virtual models of the Green Crescent Trails were created using Unity 3D and Oculus Rift which are visualization tools. Unity 3D creates the 3D environment of the Green Crescent Trails and Oculus Rift allows the user to be immersed into that 3D environment.

Roads, pedestrian and bike lanes, terrain, 3D model of buildings and house, avatars, sounds, and flowers have been implemented for the Green Crescent Trail to show the effects of vividness and to make it as realistic as possible. The user will have an immersive experience in a realistic environment. The Oculus Rift has an advantage over 2D, 3D model, and 3D interactive model because it can replicate an almost “real” environment experience virtually.

A survey of users has been conducted and future work will include gaining more support from more companies to contribute to the Green Crescent Trail by showing then the virtual reality model.
